Beginners experience with IWB.
Ability to use Mircrosoft Office and related tools.
Competent in the use of computer research tools (e.g. Internet).
Beginner knowledge in some other primary school related ICT programs (e.g. Inspiration).

Goals
To develop skills in using ICT tools (e.g. Wikis, Blogs) that will enhance the curriculum.
To effectively plan and assess an Integrated Studies unit.
To learn about new tools I can use in all areas of the curriculum to develop students' higher order thinking.

They use their senses to explore the world around them; for example living and non-living things. They describe their activities and observations using both general and science-specific language; for example, hard, soft, long, short, big, small, strong and weak.
Through sorting objects according to basic criteria such as size, shape, colour and weight, they identify and describe the similarities and differences between them.
By participating in very simple investigations involving observation and measurement (for example, making and flying kites, saving water and measuring plant growth) they learn about basic procedures and processes, including collecting and recording data. They display, and make generalisations from their data. They become aware of using safe procedures in their activities.


What real world connections are you considering?
We will make connections with the real-world when exploring how things change/grow and how we can measure this growth.
What would be the role of the students?
The Unit would develop based on what students already know and what they need/want to know.
Student questions would be addressed throughout the Unit.
Students would be involved in reflection and re-direction throughout the Unit.

What project scenario are you considering?
Design, plant and grow a garden culminating in a Garden Tea Party to be hosted by the students.
